Last December, the Peace Center honored the community group Friends of Scott, Alexis and Taun Hall at our Annual Awards Dinner for their incredible community-based work and dedication to justice. For members who attended, you likely remember the moving and powerful speech given by Taun Hall, the mother of Miles Hall.

Following the Awards Dinner we have been meeting regularly with the admin team to see how the Center can best support their actions and movement. FOSATH has been working hard to plan strategy as well as mobilize folks to support their efforts to implement structural changes in our community to ensure that this sort of tragedy NEVER occurs again, here or anywhere else.

PLEASE JOIN US ON THURSDAY, MARCH 12th for a community collaboration meeting/event!

  • The purpose of the meeting is to combine MDP&JC’s depth of experience with FOSATH’s passion and multiple workstreams/ways to help.
  • How might we join forces to create change and protect families?
  • How can we broaden and deepen our reach?

During the evening, we’ll learn about each others’ work, get into break-out groups that correlate with FOSATH’s current and newly forming subcommittees, and roll up our sleeves to brainstorm, map out our next steps and get work assignments.

As of March 11th, this event has been scheduled for postponement due to advisement from Contra Costa County Department of Health.
