Hello Peace Center Community!

We hope your Monday is off to a peaceful start. The sun we enjoyed here in the Bay Area this past weekend was much needed! I am feeling extremely grateful today as I reflect on the engaging webinar we had last week! On Tuesday, September 28th – we hosted an interactive, multigenerational panel featuring local, grassroots activist leaders sharing their perspective and strategies around effective progressive organizing. We were lucky to have a multigenerational panel including local student activists from Ygnacio Valley High School. The youth perspective provided necessary balance and fresh insight to the event – and participants enjoyed engaging in small group discussion with one another.

Our priority was to create a space for dialogue but most importantly – finding out how/where we can take tangible action. We extend a huge thank you to all our panelists for providing their important perspective to the discussion. In addition to the students, we had the privilege of being joined by local activists Taun Hall, Meg Keeley, and Mary Taylor!

We will be posting a video re-cap of the event to the Peace Center site this week.

With our webinar events, we aim to encourage active connections between community members and those who are engaged in direct progressive action. We seek to use education and dialogue to cultivate a lasting culture of peaceful action in our community.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any suggestions for featured guest speakers / organizations we can welcome for an event. We would love to hear your ideas and make new connections in the community!

In Peace
