Online reading of Dr. King’s prophetic speech
Tuesday, April 4th, 6:30pm PT | RSVP
On April 4, 1967, exactly one year before his tragic assassination, Dr. King delivered his prophetic speech, “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence.” We believe that Dr. King’s words were precautionary and visionary, providing both a diagnosis and a cure – “a true revolution of values” – for our society’s gravest illnesses, “the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism.”
Please join us online this Tuesday at 6:30pm as we mark the occasion by listening to Dr. King’s speech as read by Poor People’s Campaign leaders from across the state.
The reading is a tradition that the PPC has honored for years, and is part of CA PPC’s Close the Wealth Gap, California! campaign, an outgrowth of the PPC’s Third Reconstruction Agenda to Heal the Nation.
Invite your friends, neighbors and family – all are welcome. You can RSVP here.
Forward together,
California Poor People’s Campaign
