AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR REPRESENTATIVES
We are Bay Area citizens of all faiths and ethnicities who are shocked at the atrocities being committed before our eyes with the support of the Biden Administration and our tax dollars.
The tiny strip of land known as Gaza is the size of the land mass from Oakland to Fremont. Since 1967 Israel has occupied this territory and since 2007 has turned it into an open air prison. Now Israel is bombing it relentlessly, displacing over a million people and killing over 15,000 to date.
We are outraged that the US administration has actively supported Israeli crimes against humanity and that Congress has not put a stop to it. As Rep. Ilhan Omar stated, “Where is your humanity?”
We call for an immediate ceasefire and ending all US aid to Israel. The 75 year-old occupation must end and refugee rights be enforced.
Please reconsider your support for Israeli apartheid, occupation and genocide.
